Is there a dance uniform?
Do I have to make costumes?
NB: The only part parents are responsible for is the purchase of the required dance tights and shoes.
Is there an end of year concert?
We will be holding 3 rehearsals in 2019 – Sunday 17th November, Saturday 23rd November and dress rehearsal on the concert day, 1st December. To ensure our show is of high quality it is compulsory for all students to attend ALL of these rehearsals. Exceptions won’t be made in 2019 if you are unable to commit to these dates.
Is a DVD of the concert made?
NB: Purchase of the DVD is optional.
Are dance exams available?
It is probably best to try this avenue first to allow for growing feet.
Where can I buy dance gear?
stock our base uniforms and shoes. DanceWorks Geelong singlets, tees and hoodies are available through the studio. Black Tap Shoes for Girls/Boys/Adults
Black Jazz Shoes for Boys in mixed classes and black high tops for hip-hop.
Tan Jazz Shoes for Subs level and above/Pink Ballet shoes for Kinders, Tinies, and all ballet classes (not jiffies)
Some general things to remember:
- Dance is a team activity. Attendance at weekly classes is the only way that students can learn the routines and their positions within the dance. Refunds are not provided for missed classes or change of mind.
- Attendance at all of the rehearsals is compulsory as it allows the student to feel comfortable performing on stage and to get rid of the “Stage fright” before performing in front of an audience.
Medical Conditions
Any medical conditions that your child has must be reported to the studio in writing prior to the commencement of their class and given clearance by their GP to participate.
