Sophia began dancing at the age of 6 in her home town of Portland. She trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary.
She stayed at her local school dancing, teaching and choreographing until she was 18. Sophia then left her small town and moved to Melbourne to study the performing arts in the hopes of becoming a professional dancer. In 2010 Sophia trained at Dance World Studios and in 2011 she continued her training at The Space Dance and Arts Centre.
Since graduating in 2011 Sophia has been working professionally in the Industry both here in Australia and over seas. Sophia has worked for companies such as Norwegian Cruise Lines, Carnival Cruise Lines and Opera Australia. She has performed in many live shows and events including Virgin Australia Fashion Festival, Support dancer for Jessica Mauboy, Sportsgirl fashion show, Kung Fu Panda stage show, Peppa Pig stage show, Crown Casino, Asia- Pacific Incentives and meeting expo and many more.
Sophia’s teaching experience started at the age of 13 as an assistant dance teacher for her local dance school in Portland. When Sophia moved to Melbourne and began her career as a professional dancer she continued teaching on the side. She has taught for many schools in Melbourne including The Space Dance and Arts centre, Hawthorn School of Dance and Dance Arts United. She also choreographs competition and eisteddfod routines at Robin’s School of Dance in Warrnambool. Sophia joined the team at DanceWorks Geelong in 2016.
